1938 Zippo Lighter Carried By Us Soldier In Wwii Europe Picture(s) and Description:
1938 Zippo Lighter carried by US Soldier in WWII Europe DESCRIPTION: This auction is for what I have been told by a Zippo collector to be a 1938 or 1939 model Zippo lighter. Let me make it very clear that I am not an expert on Zippo lighters and i do not collect Zippo Lighters. This lighter cam from the estate of a WWII Soldier that carried the lighter while fighting across Europe during WWII. As you can see in the photos, it appears that he had engraved on the lighter each Country he entered (top says, England; bottom says Belgium; back says France; front says Germany; and the lid on the front says Holland). The lighter is a 4 hinge lighter and the case is brass plated as well as the insert. This I determined by seeing if a magnate will still to either. It will not. The corners are rounded and the bottom is also rounded in that it does not want to sit flat. The only flaw that I note is that one of the hinges at the end of the 4 hinge row is loose. Still snaps opening and closing. The insert has the same information as the bottom of the lighter. I have no idea if it is original. Certainly a lighter you don't see everyday. I am open to any questions. Good Luck!

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: International First Class Air Mail is usually the cheapest way to mail a package Internationally. However, there is no guarantee of delivery by First Class Mail. If you want guaranteed delivery, the package needs to be Registered which is double the expense of First class Mail. Please tell me how you want your package mailed.
PAYMENT: If you require special payment considerations, please contact me prior to bidding.
SHIPPING: Shipping cost does not include Insurance. If you want Insurance, you must request it. The shipping cost does include Delivery Confirmation. All items are shipped by the US Postal Service unless we agree to something else, or an item requires to be shipped by ground transportation, then I use your preference. I do not ship everything by Priority Mail. If weight or size dictates Priority Mail then so be it. Otherwise, I will ship First Class Mail which is usually only a day later.
GRADING and CONDITION: I only list original antiques and collectibles. I believe you will find that my descriptions are accurate -- without embellishment. My condition rating system is: poor, fair, good, excellent or mint. Sometimes the condition has a modifier such as near, plus or very. I seldom list an item with a condition below fair plus. When condition is debatable, I try to understate the rating so that the buyer will always be satisfied. It is important to point out that I do not polish, buff, or repair any item I sell. Items are sold just as I collected them. It is my policy to leave all decisions to restore or repair an item to the new owner. Should I decide to sell an item that I have restored, I will tell you so in the description.
RETURN POLICY: As a general rule, all sales are final. If you are bidding on my items, you should know what you are doing. I work hard on my descriptions and I provide well defined Photos. If you have any doubts about either, it is your responsibility to ask for clarity. That said, there still may be circumstances where I will allow a return, but I will make that determination on a case by case basis. In the event I do allow the return of an item, I will generally only refund the purchase price. I will not return mailing fees. Additionally, I will not refund anything until eBay refunds my fees through the Dispute process which requires the buyers agreement, and the buyer has posted positive feedback.
